Inventory System Design For PT Mechanical Electrical Provider

PT Mechanical Electrical Provider (an alias name, henceforth MEP) is a company that focuses on the telecommunications sector as mechanical & electrical supplier. It was found still experiencing inventory problems, such needing more goods and excess from its system. Therefore, this study aims to analyze problems provides recommendations for system design. This uses qualitative approach by interviewing five officers staffs in Procurement Division. Next, fishbone analysis find causes of faced MEP. The Fishbone diagram shows several problems: people, equipment, method, material causes. quantitative applying ABC Classification determine classification each item best way control it. There are 6 A-class items, 14 B-class 21 C-class items pada From classification, products use Continuous Review Model (Q-system) calculation an optimal amount right time replenishing inventory. For class B C design suggests Periodic (P-system) refilling using difference between target at checking. Through new system, research expects so can reduce cost losses incurred far.
